A stone-cold banger of a novela twisty journey through Silicon Valleys dark side, wrapped in a stunning mystery package with some wild surprises along the way.Blake Crouch, New York Times bestselling author of Dark Matter Dont call me a fixer. This isnt HBO. In her job as unofficial problem solver for Silicon Valleys most ruthless venture capitalist, Mackenzie Clydes gotten used to playing for high stakes. Even if none of those tech-bro millions shes so good at wrangling ever make it into her pockets. But this time, shes in way over her heador so it seems. The lightning-rod CEO of techs hottest startup has just been murdered, leaving behind billions in dead money frozen in his will. As the companys chief investor, Mackenzies boss has a fortune on the lineand with the police treading water, its up to Mackenzie to step up and resolve things, fast. Mackenzies a lawyer, not a detective. Cracking this fiendishly clever killing, with its list of suspects that reads like a whos-who of Valley power players, should be way out of her league. Except that Mackenzies used to being underestimated. In fact, shes counting on it. Because the way she sees it, this isnt an investigation. Its an opportunity. And shell do anything it takes to seize it. Anything at all. Featuring jaw-dropping twists and a wily, outsider heroine you cant help rooting for, Dead Money is a brilliant sleight-of-hand mystery. Written by a longtime insider, it is also a dead-on snapshot of the Valleys rich and famousand a glimpse at the darkness lurking behind the tech worlds cheery facade.

March was a good reading month for me. I finished 8 books. My favorite was Reformatory for sure.

Weekend reading! I‘ve heard so many great reviews of this one. It‘s a mystery set in the the tech industry but I‘ve been assured that the tech stuff isn‘t too much for an average reader.

Dead Money by Jakob Kerr throws you into the ruthless world of tech startups, venture capital, and power plays—topics I wouldn‘t normally care about, but this debut had me hooked. When a startup CEO is murdered, fixer-lawyer Mackenzie Clyde steps in, navigating billions in frozen assets and a dangerous game of survival. Fast-paced and razor-sharp, this thriller delivers. If this is Kerr‘s startup, I can‘t wait for what‘s next.
