3 posts | 18 read | 2 to read
Barbara Park’s New York Times bestselling chapter book series, Junie B. Jones, is a classroom favorite and has been keeping kids laughing—and reading—for more than twenty years. Over 60 million copies in print and now with a bright new look for a new generation! Meet the World’s Funniest First Grader—Junie B. Jones! Hurray, hurray for a brand-new school year! Being in first grade means having to get used to a whole new classroom. And a whole new teacher. And a whole new bunch of strange children. But here’s the worst thing of all: When Junie B. tries to read words on the chalkboard, she can’t seem to see what everyone else is seeing! Is it possible she might actually end up wearing glasses? USA Today: “Junie B. is the darling of the young-reader set.” Publishers Weekly: “Park convinces beginning readers that Junie B.—and reading—are lots of fun.” Kirkus Reviews: “Junie’s swarms of young fans will continue to delight in her unique take on the world. . . . A hilarious, first-rate read-aloud.” Time: “Junie B. Jones is a feisty six-year-old with an endearing penchant for honesty.” From the Trade Paperback edition.

Today‘s shopping trip was a mix for myself and my daughter 😬 Real excited to give her the Junie B. Jones as she is starting 1st grade herself, next Monday. (Parent moment: where is time going and how do I make it slow down?)

Also had a field day in the children‘s education section 😂 The Titanic book may be more for me than her (there‘s a cd inside where you explore the titanic 😬😬😬)

IamIamIam I bought a Titanic book at the Scholastic book fair and I made it very clear that it was for me, not the kids!!! Lol, I mean, it's accessible to them but I'm the one with the obsession! 😂 Great haul, by the way! I loved 5y
MotionChickness @IamIamIam 😂😂😂Gotta love a good Titanic book!! And thanks!! Invisible Monsters was the first book in my cart 😬 I‘m excited for it! What I couldn‘t make out from the reviews on the back was whether it‘s just a dark story, or a dark humorous story? 5y
IamIamIam It's both really, so the situation is dark and that makes the humor so dark it's black. Lol, I read it at least 10 years ago so it's a bit hazy but it was definitely my 2nd favorite, behind 5y

MotionChickness @IamIamIam Good to know!! Lol I do like some dark humor. I‘ll have to put Lullaby on my list! I‘ve only read Fight Club, so I‘m a Palahniuk newbie. 😅 5y
mom2bugnbee "The days are long but the years are short" is so ridiculously true! I have a senior in HS this year & she was born yesterday. Soak in those moments, mama! 5y
MotionChickness @mom2bugnbee ugh, beyond true! We hit pre-k and then I blinked. Congrats to your senior!! I‘m sure it‘s going to be a wonderful but tough, but still wonderful, year for you; so right back at you!! Soak it all in! 5y
