Humanity is returning to the moon, but this time the mission is Japanese, and in private hands for commercial purposes. L to R (Western Style). Humanity is returning to the moon, but this time the mission is Japanese, and in private hands for commercial purposes. The year is 2025 and Otaba General Construction—a firm that has built structures to survive the Antarctic and the Sahara—has received its most daunting challenge yet. Sennosuke Touenji, the chairman of one of the world's largest leisure conglomerates, wants a moon base fit for civilian use, and he wants his granddaughter Tae to be his eyes and ears on the harsh lunar surface. Tae and Otaba engineer Aomine head to the moon where adventure, trouble, and perhaps romance await.

welp, this is the first time I've gotten a miss from a haikasoru book. I'm cool with hard sci-fi, but I want my hard sci-fi to have a plot if I have to sit through the author's technical engineering details and this book evidently has 0 plot. also, setting up a budding romantic relationship between a 13yo girl and a grown man in his early 20's is hella creepy.

spring break got extended for my university so here's my reading plans for the week: the next continent & the dragon republic. thankfully no confirmed virus cases in my county (yet) and my part-time job is low risk.

on an unrelated note, the kindle sync between my phone and paperwhite is soooo useful. I've had my paperwhite for 9 months and just now started using this feature.

went out a lunch date with my partner and picked up a small #bookhaul at a local used book store while he was getting a hair cut. I flippin' love the haikasoru imprint but their books don't show up in the wild too often. also thought I was SOL on 2nd hand discworld books til I saw the wee free men in the YA section.
