Flowering Inferno
Flowering Inferno: Tales of Sinking Hearts | Rima de Vallbona
1 post
Dark and touching, the imaginative stories in this collection deal with everything from human fear to spiritual growth with an amazing assortment of characters and unexpected storylines. Often highlighting touching but sad experiences of women, the tales include a spunky 90-year-old grandmother who bowls, and a bride whose expectations of a romantic wedding night end tragically when she is raped by her new husband, but also enemy soldiers who embrace an opportunity of unity, and an extraterrestrial's take on the humanity, or lack thereof, on Earth."

Weekly Report

I've finished the tagged #CostaRica book of short stories and Fugitive Telemetry.

The rest of my books are long and slow going 🫤

Clarissa continues, the Rushdie reads much slower than I thought it would, and I'm having trouble getting into the Kesey.

BarbaraBB I enjoyed that Rushdie and still need to read the Kesey. Did you finish it? As good as One Flew? 8mo
Liz_M @BarbaraBB I haven't finished the Kesey. It was wordy and digressive -- too similar in style to the Rushdie, so i had to set it aside. 8mo
