The New York Times bestselling author of The Iron Duke and Heart of Steel returns to the Iron Seas with a riveting new adventure of steampunk and passionate romance… A century after a devastating volcanic eruption forced Iceland’s inhabitants to abandon its shores, the island became shrouded in secrecy. Five years ago, Annika unwittingly endangered that secret, but her sister Källa took the blame and was exiled. Now Annika serves on the airship Phatéon, flying from port to port in search of her sister and longing to return home. But that home is threatened when expedition leader David Kentewess comes aboard. Determined to solve the mystery of his own origin, David will stop at nothing to expose Annika’s secrets. But when disaster strikes, leaving David and Annika stranded on a glacier and pursued by a madman, their very survival depends on keeping the heat rising between them—and generating lots of steam…

Here are my 5 top 2012 books for my #decadeofbooks.

This is the year I really started reading historical romances. There was a good mixture of historical romance, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy.

Well I went to look up my April books and.... I guess the Romance genre binge is official. Jeez. 🙄 AND there are 2 that got squeezed out of this picture. I did read one True Crime book! Despite this bizarre foray into genre obsession, I'm still on track with my Book Riot Read Harder Challenge.

Pickpick

Super fun Steampunk romance. The characters are complex and tortured, the world building is amazing. My only complaint is that the cover models don't match the description of the characters in the book.
