From the acclaimed, award-winning author of Children of Time comes an unparalleled narrative of alien contact and human discovery in this follow-up to Children of Ruin. Earth is failing. In a desperate bid to escape, the spaceship Enkidu and its captain, Heorest Holt, carry its precious human cargo to a potential new Eden. Generations later, this fragile colony has managed to survive, eking out a hardy existence. Yet life is tough, and much technological knowledge has been lost. Then Liff, Holt's granddaughter, hears whispers that the strangers in town aren't from neighbouring farmland. That they possess unparalleled technology - and that they've arrived from another world . But not all questions are so easily answered, and their price may be the colony itself...Children of Memory by Arthur C. Clarke Award-winner Adrian Tchaikovsky is a far-reaching space opera spanning generations, species and galaxies, and the unmissable follow-up to Children of Time and Children of Ruin.

This is my least favorite of this series. I still enjoyed. However, I felt it was a bit of stretch. My first thought when I finished was, that was weird (not in a good way). 3.5ish ⭐️

The first two books of the series were SO good, and then ???? The third one just took a hard left into something unrecognizable. More fantasy than sci fi. As tedious as the day is long.

TalesandTexts Agreed. Definitely books 1 & 2 are a class apart. 11mo

Mehso-so

As a series, I love these books and Children of Memory was an interesting wrap-up. But as a standalone novel, this really doesn‘t live up to its predecessors - Time and Ruin.

This book starts out strong, but the ending is very weak. Even for Tchaikovsky‘s standards, this was just plain weird. In that, it did not make much sense. The author tried a little too hard with this one.

But, is this book readable? Yes.

Narration is spectacular.

CBee @RaeLovesToRead let me know if you end up getting your shit together after reading that book. Cause I need to get mine together for sure and could use some help 😂😂🫣🫣 1y
RaeLovesToRead @CBee Trust me, Shrigley will not help you with that one jot. But his irreverent, zany, ridiculous, juvenile and just plain bizarre artwork just gets better and better. I have about 5 self help books to get through so I'll let you know if any of them are life changing, haha 😅 1y
CBee @RaeLovesToRead I‘ll have to check him out! I like bizarre stuff 😊🤷‍♀️ 1y
