#litsysummercamp Day 5

We camp a lot, and love to explore! This is me and my 2 year old on the Bluff Trail at Fort Ebey on Whidbey Island, WA. Author Elizabeth George (Inspector Lynley mysteries) made her home on Whidbey Island for a long time and it is the setting for her Whidbey Island Saga young adult series. I hope to get into hiking again when the kids are a little older.

ImperfectCJ I love hiking with my kids! My son was about your son's age when he first hiked a full mile without me carrying him at all (it took forever, but he did it). My daughter rode in a carrier for hikes for her first three years, but my son wanted to be on his feet. They're both excellent hikers now (at 16 and almost 12). 3y
EvieBee Just gorgeous! I love George and hadn‘t realized that she wrote books other than Lynley. Mind blown. 3y
aperfectmjk How serene! 3y
BeckyWithTheGoodBooks @ImperfectCJ Great! I have back problems, so can‘t do carriers. Both kids have to be able to walk themselves. We definitely go on walks in the woods, but won‘t be able to venture on longer hikes for awhile yet. 3y

2? don't even know where to start......The one thing that did kind of bother me the most was the "kissing part." (You know what I mean if you read it) That's not a casual thing to a teenager!! Hell, a lot of times it's not a casual thing to adults. Irritating. That's the thing that bothered me the most, not the only thing that bothered me about this story. But then, I did finish it so there's that.
