I always enjoy finding weird trends in children's lit publishing and the coincidences that sometimes pop up. In the last couple months, Junior Library Guild has sent me to middle grade novels in verse about young girls who take up surfing to help them cope with challenges in their lives. Because we live in the middle of nowhere Western NY (6 hours from the closest beach),

Johanna414 I think these might be the only two books I have on surfing, so it seems crazy to me that they were published within a few months of each other. Now I think I need to read them both! 2y
