A Child's Book of Poems
A Child's Book of Poems | Gyo Fujikawa
4 posts | 1 read
William Blake, Kate Greenaway, Emily Dickinson: the writers in this charming anthology of 200 poems--first published in 1969--are among literatures most beloved. And Gyo Fujikawas appealing illustrations depict children of all races sweetly interacting, as well as an engagingly rendered menagerie of animals and the natural world in all its wonderment. Among the verses that children will love are Henry Wadsworth Longfellows "Christmas Bells, Lewis Carrolls "The Melancholy Pig, and Eugene Fields "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod, along with proverbs, limericks, nursery rhymes, and folk songs.

My favorite poem that I read was called wyken, blynken and nod! It was a cute story about three children that sailed into the sky in a wooden shoe to catch fish but Instead the moon told them to catch the stars. The illustration is so pretty too

Mehso-so

This book for me, the wording was just okay! The illustrations though were so fun. I loved the vibrant colors and simplicity of them

So I mixed up my photo challenges, and mindlessly googled the lyrics to "We go together" (like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong), which obviously led me to nonsense rhymes, and this gorgeous couple!
