For the 2009 Venice Biennale, Ragnar Kjartansson occupied a room, painting his model, Pįll Haukur Björnsson, who wore only a Speedo swimsuit and lazily drank beer and smoked, while Mozart and Wagner sounded from a record player. Over the course of several months, onlookers saw the paintings piling up in the room. This volume records the paintings and performance.
