As the case unfolds, the truth is darker and more twisted than they can imagine. The author allows the story to unspool slowly, and we‘re not sure exactly what‘s going on until the end. The pacing is very well done. Jeppe and Anette face personal challenges as well. Can‘t wait for the next!
pickThe third book in the series and it‘s a slow starter. Korner and Werner are back on the case of a missing teen. Secrets, environmental issues, murder(s), lies, dysfunctional families, betrayal. Korner‘s and Werner‘s personal issues interweave with their investigations. This is a good mystery that took a dark turn. Not a happy book, but an interesting read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

pick⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 The word I would use for this police procedural mystery is “basic.” It‘s basically good. Basically quick. It‘s basically effective and plot-driven. so-soA boy goes missing and his parents find a strange note. Was he kidnapped? Did he run away? Everyone has a theory of course. Honestly, I wanted more of a thrill from this thriller. The writing was ok, the characters recognizable (not a bad thing in of itself, they just didn‘t stand out), and the solution to the case handled rather neatly. In the end, I didn‘t like nearly as much as I thought I would.
