Danbi Leads the School Parade | Anna Kim
7 posts | 5 read | 1 to read
"Danbi is thrilled to start her new school in America. But a bit nervous too, for when she walks into the classroom, everything goes quiet. Everyone stares. Danbi wants to join in the dances and the games, but she doesn't know the rules and just can't get anything right. Luckily, she isn't one to give up. With a spark of imagination, she makes up a new game and leads her classmates on a parade to remember!"--Publisher's description.

“And then.. TI-DING“. This quote started the parade of sounds using different utensils during lunch, it was quite cute.

This is a perfect book for the beginning of the school to introduce new friends or to introduce a classroom to a new student that may be coming in. It is really comforting to read.

Danbi Leads the School Parade by Anna Kim. 2020. Picture Book. Asian/Pacific American Librarian Association Literature Award. This is a great book about a child coming into a new classroom and country and how she fits in. I really enjoyed the movement of illustration in the book during the parade page.
