Once you get used to the Middle English...oh, who am I kidding, it‘s no simple task to make your brain read Middle English. However, these were some neat, fun, sad, silly, interesting slice-of-life tales that I really did enjoy. Poor little Margaret. Two things: 1) Thank GOODNESS for the rise in standardization of written English and 2) I HAVE to stop taking my modern-day privileges for granted. 192/1,001 #1001Books

BarbaraBB You did it! Amazing 💪🏽 3y
AshleyHoss820 @BarbaraBB THANK YOU! My brain really felt the strain, so it took me a lot longer to read such a slim novel than it usually would! 3y

Hit reading rut. Look up short books on #1001Books list to jump start reading. Go through inter-library loan. Open book to start reading...Immediately realize this will not be a quick read...🤣🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 Flashbacks to History of the English Language class in 3, 2, 1...

BarbaraBB You‘re going to try this? Impressive 😅 3y
Liz_M My first reaction to this on seeing the book title was "uh-oh" 3y
AshleyHoss820 @BarbaraBB Thank you! Now that I paid the library $3 to get it, I kinda feel like I have to soldier on! @Liz_M RIGHT!? I am super grateful for some of the assignments we had in History of the English Language because I would be DYING right now. This is going to be a laborious process because the typing is so cramped and every now and then I have to play “guess the word.” 😱😂😫😅 (edited) 3y
