Death A La Mode
Death A La Mode: A Recipe for Death Book | Tawdra Kandle, Tamara Kendall
1 post | 1 read
Pour some wine, put up your feet and spend some time in Palm Dunes . . . where people aren't always as they appear. I'm still getting used to the idea of having a steady boyfriendnot to mention adjusting to the fact that Lucas is a death broker/vampire. With the help of his ex, Cathrynwhom I doesnt quite trustwe're trying to figure out why Lucas was turned into a vampand by whom. My biggest challenge at the moment, though, is creating a winning entry to the annual Perfect Pecan Pie Festival, the premiere food contest in Palm Dunes, Florida. Testing recipes and running my new restaurant are keeping me busy. But no ones too busy for murder. When people around local up-and-coming folk singer Crissy Darwin begin turning up dead, Lucas is pulled into the investigation. We both suspect that Crissy herself is the target. But can we solve the mystery before the killer strikes againand without ruining the Festival? Pour yourself a nice glass of Lambrusco, cut a slice of pie, and settle in to see what happens. From USA Today bestselling author Tawdra Kandle writing as Tamara Kendall comes the second book in this paramystery series with a touch of humor. If you enjoy the Stephanie Plum books, you'll fall in love with Jackie, Lucas and the quirky Florida retirement community where they live as the only non-senior residents--and the only ones with otherworldly connections. Save Tomorrow is a series of paranormal romances that begins in the small town of King, Florida, winds through the Serendipity and Recipe for Death books, and finally culminates in Age of Aquarius, the inevitable showdown that ties all the characters together in a fight to stop the ultimate evil.

Book #8: Ok! So this series has gone into a world that I actually am kinda interested in - I like the unusual take on vampire thing and there is an expanding roster of characters and powers that has kept me interested. The romance part is... lacking for me. Very little depth or nuance... but it also could just be me bc I find heteronormative romances a little boring. I probably will read the next one if I can get ahold of it :)
