Crowned and Moldering
Crowned and Moldering: A Fixer-Upper Mystery | Kate Carlisle
4 posts | 7 read | 3 to read
In the New York Times bestselling Fixer-Upper mysteries, contractor Shannon Hammer can repair even the most distressed building. But clearing out the cobwebs from her current project may distress her… to death. When Mac Sullivan—famous thriller writer and Shannon’s new beau—first moved to Lighthouse Cove, California, he bought the historic lighthouse mansion that the town is named after. Mac needs help cleaning up the place, and Shannon is more than happy to get her handywoman hands on the run-down Victorian. But during demolition, a grisly discovery is made among the debris—the bones of a teenage girl who went missing fifteen years ago. Locals had always assumed Lily Brogan ran away from her difficult life, but it seems her troubles followed her to the grave. If Shannon has any chance of getting her renovation back on track, she’ll need to tackle the cold case. But with new suspects coming out of the woodwork every day, she’ll have to be careful to pry the right secrets and clues from the poor girl’s problematic past… From the Paperback edition.

Either the lawyer is lying to the daughter or the author is very confused about what white collar crime is. I hope it's the former 😬😬😬

New cozy. Enjoying it so far.

I'm trying to wittle down the amount of cozy series I have/am reading (there are so many) so I think I'll finish the books I own in this series and then stop. Nothing really against it, just the construction cozy isn't my thing 😊

I've been doing this little challenge for myself to try and read cozy mysteries that are set in all 50 states. It's a lot harder than you'd imagine--lots of East Coast & West Coast. Very very few for states like Montana or West Virginia or New Mexico.

It's definitely a challenge, that's for sure!! So far out of all the series I've read, I'm only at 11/50. Diversifying the settings of books we read is a great habit, though! 🌎

Quirkybookworm There are lots of book settings in 4 corners area. Try Tony Hillman. His daughter is an author too. 6y
mrp27 Nook/Kindle just offered a free ebook titled Spooky Sweet by Connie Shelton that is a cozy mystery set in New Mexico. Not sure if it's any good but it might help with your challenge. 😊 6y
queerbookreader @Quirkybookworm @mrp27 ooooo thank you for the suggestions!! I've heard of lots in CO but not New Mexico thank you 6y

I admit that I love cozy Mysteries. They are perfect for reading when I just need something a little lighter. This one was donated to one of my little free libraries and I wanted to check it out before passing analog. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did and now I'm thinking I may want to read the next one in the series 😊
Almost done listening to Commonwealth, working on Wanderlust, & waiting for a Lynn Austin's Where We Belong to arrive!
