The Cloven: Book One
The Cloven: Book One | Garth Stein

The author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, The Art of Racing in the Rain, and the co-creator of Stumptown, now a hit series on ABC TV, team up for a coming of age story about a Pacific Northwest mutant. Created in a privately financed, top-secret laboratory on Vashon Island, James "Tuck" Tucker was genetically modified by the Cloven project to eat like a goat. But Tuck also has cloven hooves, enlarged sinuses, and a hardened skull. In his early 20s, Tuck is being held in a mysterious detention center and is going to college. He’s been passing as a normal person, until he shows a girl his hooves… Tuck’s story unfurls like a Pacific Northwest conspiratorial fever dream, as he searches for his true home out there somewhere. The Cloven Book One begins a raucous, funny, fast-moving, and dynamic series of graphic novels by two bestselling and critically acclaimed storytellers.
