New Yorker Tara Meehan's first trip to Galway may be her last . . . Tara never imagined her introduction to Ireland like thiscarrying her mams ashes to honor her final request: Tell Johnny Im sorry . . . Take me home. Shes never met her mam's estranged brother, Johnny Meehan, who owns an architectural salvage business in Galway. Although Tara is immediately charmed by the medieval city, the locals seem wary of strangers and a gypsy warns her that death is all around. When Tara arrives at her uncles stone cottage, the prophesy seems true. A dead man lies sprawled over the threshold in a pool of blood. The victim turns out to be Johnnys wealthiest client, and her missing uncle is the gardas number-one suspect. In trying to find Johnny and solve the crime, Tara uncovers her mam and uncles troubled past. But with a desperate killer about, she had better mind herself, or theyll be tossing her ashes in Galway Bay . . .

Pickpick

I enjoyed this cozy mystery series starter and the quirkiness of the setting. Galway holds a place near to my heart and I think that really helped me stay with some of the shakier elements of the book. I guessed the killer earlier than I would‘ve liked, but still enjoyed witnessing the MC connecting the dots.

Well, this happened today. 😫 Now I‘ll have to take a personal day from work tomorrow to get this fixed. I have zero luck with tires.
