The community along Oregon's Deschutes River is one of successful careers and perfect families. For years, up-and-comers Liz and Owen have admired their good friends and neighbors, Carole and David. They appear to have it all -- security, happiness, and a beautiful young son, Charlie.

The overall plot of the book was great, however I felt that the story line was slow and could have had the same concept with many fewer pages and slow parts. Definitely not a recommendation to others. #April.2.13

A creepy quartet that helped me ring in the new year. My husband & I spent a quiet evening saying to good bye to 2020 & yes to some spooky books. I don‘t usually read this genre, but it just seemed fitting for the last year. My favorite was the tagged book, but it was also the most disturbing from a basic moral standpoint The others provided a great chill ride & gave me a much needed mental break from all of the craziness in this world.

I tried to finish reading this book, but the story just seemed to get so far fetched & progressively more twisted I gave up. It wasn‘t a compelling storyline & lost my attention halfway through.

I couldn‘t read any more of this book!! I got half way to the part where the husband suffocated the child after he was still alive and was disgusted!! Just the start of her hitting him and leaving him to die was awful. I would never recommend this to anyone. I‘ve never not finished a book but this one I couldn‘t stomach

So.... can we talk about how this book ended?! Because, wow. Mind. Blown!!! I‘m usually pretty good at guessing the twists and turns of suspense thriller type novels... this one had me second guessing a lot! I‘ve always liked Gregg Olsen novels, and this one definitely lives up to the standard.😱😰😳

I love Gregg Olsen books. This one had a lot of twists in it. It makes you see that when you do one thing, it can have a lasting effect on your life and others. Wish he would have add one more chapter. Kinda left you wondering.
