Marin Ireland has narrated other audiobooks I‘ve listened to & I really like her narration. This was a well-paced thriller & apparently the 1st in a series. I enjoyed hearing about the DC setting & the life of Hayley as an intern at the White House. It has an ending that I definitely didn‘t see coming. I recommend this one! I‘ll be on the lookout for the 2nd book.

Megabooks I like Marin as well. 3y

1. I buy fav authors, and borrow if A) it's a new-to-me author or B) it's the first in a fantasy series, since they're hit-or-miss for me. Then I'll buy the whole series if I enjoy! I donate my unhauls
2. If it's a 350-pager I could probably read it in a workweek, or over a weekend
3. The tagged. I've seen some glowing reviews but I found it to be very sexist. Haven't seen anyone else agree though so it may just be me!

It is rare that I don't see the ending coming—bravo!

The rest of the book was pretty good. I wasn't as disappointed by some of the aspects that annoyed others. For example, I thought the little asides about characters' futures were sort of funny. Some people talk about the writing being more suitable to a screenplay. I could see that, but it didn't diminish my experience.

Ultimately, I enjoyed this and consider it a better-than-aveage read.

THIS WAS SO GOOD!!! Such a fun book to read. I loved getting to know Hayley Chill: former military, former boxing champ, new White House intern. Fast-paced with lots of twists. The ending surprised the heck out of me!!

I can hardly believe this is the author‘s debut. So good. On sale early Jan 2020.

I started it yesterday after seeing blurbs from Jack Carr and CJ Box and I can‘t put it down.
