The Songs of Distant Earth
The Songs of Distant Earth | Arthur C. Clarke
More than two thousand years in the future, a small human colony thrives on the ocean paradise of Thalassasent there centuries ago to continue the human race before the Earths destruction. Thalassas resources are vastand the human colony has lived a bucolic life there. But their existence is threatened when the spaceship Magellan arrives on their worldcarrying one million refugees from Earth, fleeing the dying planet. Reputed to be Arthur C. Clarkes favorite novel, The Songs of Distant Earth addresses several fascinating scientific questions unresolved in their timeincluding the question of why so few neutrinos from the sun have been measured on Earth. In addition, Clarke presents an inventive depiction of the use of vacuum energy to power spacecraftand the technical logistics of space travel near the speed of light.

I can't believe we are only a week away from the next #BookSpin draw! New to the list for this month are the tagged and Consider Phlebas. I've kind of been in a bit of a reading slump lately so hopefully this will motivate me to get back out there.

Just started a new book and I'm loving it! I always try to read at least one sci-fi novel at a time.

Mehso-so

I'm a big fan of Clarke and this novel started strong but just drug on and got a bit boring. It did offer some great philosophical reading interspersed throughout and it was worth finishing but this wasn't my favorite of his.
