6 posts | 9 read | 1 reading | 7 to read
From the New York Times bestselling Madeline Hunter comes this first in a stunning new trilogy about three irresistibly attractive brothers. This is the story of the bastard brother.... For fans of Mary Balogh and Amanda Quick. Gareth Fitzallen is celebrated for four things: his handsome face, his notable charm, his aristocratic connections, and an ability to give the kind of pleasure that has women begging for more. Normally he bestows his talents on experienced, worldly women. But when he heads to Langdons End to restore a property he inheritedand to investigate a massive art thefthe lays plans to seduce a most unlikely lady. Eva Russell lives a spinsters life of precarious finances and limited dreams while clinging to her familys old gentry status. She supports herself by copying paintings while she plots to marry her lovely sister to a well-established man. Everyone warns her of Gareths reputation, and advises her to lock her sister away. Only it is not her sister Gareth desires. One look, and she knows he is trouble. One kiss, however, proves she is no match for this master of seduction. From the Paperback edition.

It‘s a good enough historical romance. There are annoying errors (Fitzgerald when it should say Fitzallen, people in two places at once) and I saw the two twists coming pretty early, and the big conflict ends up passing quickly. But I liked both characters and the supporting cast, and I have the next two already, so I‘ll continue the trilogy. One down for #AwesomeAugust and #Roll100

Another book done. I have been feeling so behind on everything and I‘m trying to slow down from my frantic running around.
I enjoyed the mystery here it was fun! Good romance with a bastard and a struggling lady.
Will I get a bingo? Probably not, I am enjoying my reads though and filling in the squares is always fun! #bookspinbingo

This is one of the best historical romances I've read in a while. Very Jane Austen-with a side of sex. It has a very detailed and believable story. Loving it so far!🔥🔥🔥

I read so many different genres. However, I have been a long time lover of historical novels and historical romance novels. This is my guilty pleasure. I ended up reading the last book in this series first. Now I have to start from the beginning.
