Mankiller: A Chief and Her People | 
pickChief Mankiller tells the story of her people and her own life. The Cherokee history reads like a textbook (though explains more than your history class). The autobiography felt impersonal, matter of fact events recorded but few personal feelings on events shared, the end read as a list of political accomplishments. While I felt it lacked emotion, it was both an interesting history lesson and story of a strong and accomplished woman.
