I Photograph Russia
I Photograph Russia | James E. Abbe
4 posts
This early work by photographer James E Abbe is both expensive and hard to find in its first edition. It contains photographs and a travelogue of Abbe s journey through Russia to capture images of Stalin and Russian life. This fascinating work is highly recommended for anyone interested in the history of Russia and its politics in the early twentieth century. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.

While I'm digging into this rare manuscript I need recommendations for my e-reader. I think sophisticated mystery will be a good pair. I cannot stand bloody:cruel/dark, sorry, I saw enough in my past career as a lawyer; something light and clever like Poirot. Any suggestions?

BookBabe Lovely photo! 😍 8y

I checked out the book just to take a look at rare photos, but I have discovered an interesting story behind them as well

Could I imagine that I will check out the 1935 year printed edition from an American library about USSR history??? still unbelievable for me? Mr. Abbé was the only international photographer who took Stalin's official pictures. There are 80 rare photos of Russia under Stalin's regime in the book
