Midlife Mayhem
Midlife Mayhem | Sue Hawley
Midlife Mayhem is another fun story about Peg Shaw who sees dead people and works with them to solve cases in Bath, Ohio. Sue Hawley wrote this cozy mystery about a menopausal woman, her neighbor Amy and their crime solving adventures. Amy, who is in her late 80's has enough energy to cause Peg to struggle at times to keep up. ""Better. I've felt better the past week than I have for ages. I think this menopause crap is finally coming to an end." She raised an eyebrow. "What on earth makes you think your menopause is over?" I watched her, surprised at her question. "Because ... the hot flashes have almost totally disappeared, and the night sweats aren't nearly as bad as they were. It must be the end ... and good riddance." "Oh, sweetie. You haven't even hit the midpoint yet." Her tone was sympathetic, making me a little uneasy. I slowly turned to face her. "Nana, what do you mean?" "Honey, menopause is a process. It ebbs and flows. A few months of hell, a few months of not so bad, then a few months of hardly any symptoms. Then the entire process begins again until all the hormones are basically gone."
