The Emotionally Healthy Church
The Emotionally Healthy Church: A Strategy for Discipleship that Actually Changes Lives | Peter Scazzero, Warren Bird
2 posts | 3 read | 2 to read
Despite all the emphasis today on spiritual formation, church leaders rarely describe what spiritual maturity looks like. This book addresses how to grow disciples with relational depth--balanced people who are genuinely intimate with God, with their inner being, and with others.

Such a good book. It has been really timely for me right now. I was encouraged to think more about emotional growth and maturity as it is paired with my faith and leadership. We often ignore emotional maturity in the church and that is a mistake. This book laid out clear principles that lead through the process of pursuing health and growth.

jessjess I haven't read this one but our study group did EHS (the blue one) and it was eye-opening and thought provoking. 2y

Absolutely loved this book! As someone who has been in the vocation of the church for many years, I cannot stress enough the value of the concepts introduce in this book. A church can only be as effective as it is healthy, and unfortunately so many of our churches are broken from the top down. Pete Scazzero has spent many years learning from mistakes and lays out beautifully the principles to developing a healthy ministry. #churchplanting
