The assembled chorus gathered between the covers of this essential book sings of a universality that transcends all borders, visible and invisible.
Fifty-eight voices rise to command our attention in this revelatory anthology of contemporary poetry, prose, and memoir. They are the voices of young people, ages eleven to twenty-two, from many American Indian nations.

This book is a stirring collection of stories and poems by young people from many American Indian nations. Although several of the works share similar themes (e.g., dissonance between heritage and contemporary culture), they are ones with which readers of other ages and backgrounds can connect with in their hearts. The young people who've contributed are more than just their ethnicity...they are powerful writers whose work is worth a read .
