This was such a bizarre book, quirky and funny at the oddest times but mostly bizarre. It‘s about a boy and his dog... whose probably not from this planet. It‘s about friendships and found family, but mostly it‘s about a boy and his dog.

I really wanted to like this one- I‘m a sucker for any any kind of story involving dogs, and this YA book about a magical dog sounded promising. But, while it has a few funny scenes, the book glamorizes drugs, has foul language and such dated references (like to Bonanza!!) that I think the publishers missed the mark with the right audience... I wouldn‘t give this to a 13 year old to read and honestly, I wish I hadn‘t read it either! #DogsOfLitsy
It would appear that I was fated to read about crawdads one way or another... 😉🦐
Climbing into bed early, trying to decide between these two very different books. Each will afford me unique opportunities in my upcoming interview.
On the one hand, reading “Where the Crawdads Sing” will show that I can engage with my patron base about the latest, hot reads. On the other, “Me & Mr. Cigar” will allow me to utter the phrase “Butthole Surfers” in an interview (the author was the band‘s frontman). Sooo...YEAH. Tough call. 😅
