He sensed animosity. “You don‘t care for this man.”
"He‘s not on my Christmas card list.”

Bluebird Best line in the book--It stopped me in my tracks! I love Cotton Malone's dry humor. 7y
Andrew65 @Bluebird Definitely agree, there are always a few laugh out loud moments. I also like how the line went on: “Why are you two here?” he asked. “Sightseeing,” Malone said. “It‘s a new tour being offered by the PLA. You get a ride in one of your choppers, attacked by a fighter, they throw in a sneak peek inside an ancient tomb.” (edited) 7y

Have started The Emperor's Tomb by Steve Berry as a Group Read. Early action based on and linked to events in China, as well as more modern day events in China. This is book six in the Cotton Malone Series; I feel the standard has slipped slightly in the last couple so hope it picks up to the previous high standard in this one.

Bluebird OMG, I forgot this starts tomorrow. Crumbs! I'm already behind! I borrowed the audio + ebook so I'll try to finish the first section by tomorrow night. 7y
Melissa_J Is this the newest Cotton Malone book? I've read three or four of them but can't remember which one I stopped at. 7y
Reecaspieces I agree. I couldn't finish the last one. Hopefully this is better 7y
Andrew65 @Melissa_J No, there are actually now 12 (!) in the series. This is book 6, the latest one is (edited) 7y

Happy #mapmonday! I love when I finish a book & I am so excited that I'm led to other great books/authors. I love Dan Brown; he's an auto-buy for me, so years ago I searched for similar authors and found Steve Berry. Steve Berry happens to always have hardcovers in Barnes & Nobles' clearance section for under $7! How can I go wrong with books in a style I like on the cheap!?!

Do you have any similar experiences?
