After ten years apart, two young Charlestonians meet by chance at a wedding in the English countryside. Eliza Poinsett is an art historian living in London with a boyfriend who adores her. I did find some time to stop by the Sweeter Than Fiction bookstore in Charleston. Really cute Taylor Swift themed bookstore. They had a great selection of romance novels. I didn‘t buy any books but bought my 10 year old a cute bag tote. They had lots of other bookish merchandise: totes, stickers, candles, puzzles. It was busy while I was in there. Definitely a fun little bookstore to visit if you‘re in the area.

If the budget isn‘t passed by midnight then no Charleston. I would get a lot of extra reading time there so fingers crossed lol! (Bc my reading time is obviously the most important 😛)

I'm going to be in Charleston for work again next week. Is there anywhere I can go downtown for books? I've yet to find a bookstore. Im limited to downtown because we don't get cars.

KathyWheeler Blue Bicycle is a bookstore downtown on King Street. It was the only one I ran across when I was there in November, but there could be others. 8y

LittleWonder @BethM The Blue Bicycle and make sure to go in the back! On King Street past Calhoun Street. They have a few antique signed copies up front - very cool to check out. I always hit that place when I'm in town! The public library is also a pretty impressive building! Enjoy!!!! (edited) 8y

Mehso-so

I wanted to like this book more than I did. It was gorgeously written with a vague style--sometimes that works, but in this case, it didn't. This novel couldn't quite tell what it wanted to be and thus lacked narrative tension.
