I admit I have never read any of Val McDermids books, but reading about her beloved Scotland and the places she has set some of her scenes was incredible. She really has. Why for telling a story.

I began this the other day. It‘s been slow going just due to commitments outside the home.

I‘m not a fan of crime books so have not ready and fiction written by her, but she is so descriptive when writing about the place she loves. I‘m really enjoying this.

Gorgeous photos, interesting insights into McDermid's inspirations and creative process, and a short story that's otherwise hard to find. If you like Val McDermid, this is a good book to pick up.
