#1 New York Times, USA Today, and internationally bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout returns to the world of the Lux with The Burning Shadow, the steamy, shocking second installment of the Origin series that will leave readers reeling. When Evelyn Dasher crossed paths with Luc, she was thrown headfirst into the world of the Luxonly to discover that she was already far more involved in their world than she ever suspected. Because the Luxen arent the only ones with a hidden past. Theres a gap in Evies memory, lost months of her life and a lingering sense that something happened, something she cant remember and nobody is willing to tell her. She needs to find out the truth about who she isand who she was. But every answer she finds only brings up more questions. Her search for the truth brings her ever closer to Luc, the Origin at the center of it all. Hes powerful, arrogant, inhumanly beautiful, extremely dangerous...and possibly in love with her. But even as Evie falls for him, she cant help but wonder if his attraction is to her, or to the memory of a girl who no longer exists. And all the while, a new threat looms: reports of a flu-like, fatal virus that the government insists is being spread by Luxen. A horrifying illness that changes whoever it touches, spreading panic across a country already at its breaking point. Book 2 in the series. And it was a serious page turner and although I didn‘t read the first series this series is a true stand alone. I love the characters and the storyline. #romantsy #100readschallenge

So I didn't read the series this is spun off of (although I have seen a million drawings of Damon and Kat on the internet and I don't even know how), but Armentrout got me up to speed on the first book in this new series. Book 2 is even better, with Evie becoming the badass I knew she could be. Lots and lots of action in this one!

I‘m going to try real hard this year to post mini reviews of all the books I read in 2020. 🤞🏻#2020Books

A whirlwind of a second book. There is so much happening here, a lot is discovered about Evvie and what‘s going on in the world. I am enjoying Evvie and Luc‘s story, but I also appreciate the return of Daeman, Kat and the gang and the blending of their new lives with what‘s going on.

Whew, this has been a busy holiday season... Sorry I've been scarce.
Last book read of 2019. Just finished and didn't really want it to end. Now to wait probably another year for the next release. This is the second book in the Origin series and starts right where The Brightest Star left off. I can't really say anything because of spoilers but this is a great series, but read the Lix series before starting this series.

Happy New Year's Eve!

Oh boy, I feel tricked!

It‘s my own fault of course, but I really thought this was the next gargoyle book but it turns out it‘s a Luxen book and now I feel disappointed and confused.

Still a book I want to read, I‘m just struggling to shift my mindset to Luxen.

Jennifer Armentrout does a great job of reeling us in with her characters. I want to hear about all of them, old and new. Oh, she‘s good, and that ending - 😳 now we have to wait...
