Our Classics Book club met this week and shared our thoughts on Hans Christian Anderson‘s Fairy Tales. Each of us had a different collection - mine was the illustrated one, another was a children‘s collection from 1959 and another had his entire unabridged collection! We noticed that there isn‘t a lot of magic in his tales, but lots of “appreciate what you have” stories, the religion influences and the “riches won‘t buy you happiness” themes.

Our Classics Book Club has chosen the Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen for this month‘s selection, so I chose this lovely book. I have started with Thumbelina. I remember reading it as a child. What good memories!
