Sometimes, the right book finds you. Nearly four years ago, my family suffered a loss that literally took our breath and, to this day, still often makes it difficult to function. The healing, if it is to be, is far away and a painful journey. Ann Hood's story of the sudden loss of her daughter describes grief in a way that makes you cry "Yes, this is it exactly!". If you or someone you know are wading through grief, I can't recommend this enough.

Bibliogeekery Great review! Sorry for your loss! 5y

Why did I read this? I cried at every single page. Every single one. It was so beautifully written. It was so deeply felt. A story has not provoked tears from me in so so long. And I stood at my child's bedroom door and watched her sleep. After I cried. A lot. So, yeah, hug your people.
