This is another one I ended up being rather disappointed with. I didn't understand what era this was supposed to deviate from, so at times the dialogue was corny and forced. Since I didn't have a specific era to attribute it to, the tone/voice of the book wasn't very good or authentic. It also felt way too long. The audiobook reader also was only good when she was not reading male voices, then it was cringeworthy.

Jebpix Love how you make images to go with your audiobooks. Are you doing that within the Litsy app or are you using something else? 7y
AlexandraGriffin @Jebpix thank you! I just take a screenshot of the audiobook I'm listening to then use an app called Squaready so I don't have to crop it. 😊 7y

Blerg, the audiobook reader is wonderful when she isn't doing male voices. Then, she kinda ruins it. 😑

Methinks I'll need more lovecraftian reads after #TheIronThorn. 🐙

Enjoyable speculative fiction with a steampunk/Lovecraft mashup, not terribly well-represented by the cover, I must say 😂. What is she doing, holding up her shirt like a Gothic damsel-in-distress? I liked the heroine (not damsel-y at all), the play on an alternative 1950s US, and the imagery was well-done with a good creepy vibe🕯, good for #scaretober 🎃
