The Lord Won't Mind
The Lord Won't Mind: A Novel | Gordon Merrick
1 post | 2 read
The first in Merrick's notorious and much loved Peter and Charlie trilogy-the two beautiful young men meet at their Ivy League college and forge a love that will survive a hostile society and Charlie's vengeful ex-wife. A classic novel first published in 1970 and the first to portray a happy gay relationship. Now a new generation of readers can warm to these romantic melodramas featuring exotic locales and memorable characters.

Raise your hand if you remember reading Gordon Merrick's classic gay romances back in the day. *raises hand* Welp, you're in luck, because they're back in print (digitally) and today, this one's only $1.99! This was groundbreaking stuff, people!

shawnmooney I remember drooling over these homoerotic covers at bookshops in Saskatoon Saskatchewan as a preteen in the 70s - the first time I'd seen any kind of homoerotic anything in my life! I read this novel in my 20s and thought it was one of the worst written pieces of fiction of any demographic I'd ever read. :-) With the possible exception of The Da Vinci code… LOL 8y
ColleenLindsay They are pretty cheesy. But fun! 8y
