As the savage Clone Wars rage unchecked, the Republic s deadliest warriors face the grim truth that the Separatists aren t their only enemy or even their worst. In the Grand Army s desperate fight to crush the Separatists, the secret special ops missions of its elite clone warriors have never been more critical . . . or more dangerous. A growing menace threatens Republic victory, and the members of Omega Squad make a shocking discovery that shakes their very loyalty. As the lines continue to blur between friend and enemy, citizens from civilians and sergeants to Jedi and generals find themselves up against a new foe: the doubt in their own hearts and minds. The truth is a fragile, shifting illusion and only the approaching inferno will reveal both sides in their true colors."

I almost forgot to post my completed #BookSpinBingo board for July. Only when I wanted to make the new one for August, I realised that I hadn't put it on Litsy after finishing the last book 😅 But yes, I managed to clear the board, and by now I'm even up to date with my reviews 🎉

And she did it again: Traviss simply knows, what to do and how to do it. She's done everything right again, what she's done right in the two novels before. She gives the clonetroopers a voice, even a soul. Especially for fans of The Mandalorian it could be interesting to read this series, since we also go deep into the Mandalorian way of live. BUT with this series you have to start with volume one, otherwise you just miss out on way to much ⬇

Jari-chan Traviss just continues writing where she left off. She's heavy on character development, but also the plot is a continuing one. In my eyes it's worth all the while. These books are very special in their own way.

If you're into the lore and canon of the Star Wars universe,tl this book is one you'll be interested in. Clone commandos don't get enough of a story in the screenplays and movies available to us, and this series does a great job of explaining what their lives were like. Really good book. I'm working on the next one in the series now.

One of the reasons why I love the extended Star Wars universe is that it goes so much deeper. This book actually asks ethical questions. Is it okay to clone hundreds or more men and send them to fight? Are those human beings as well? Padawan Etain is about to find out...

Really enjoyed this part of the Republic Commando series. The clones have been my favorites since I started watching the Clone Wars show. Excited and a little scared for the next book since its Order 66.

As the war continues in this next installation of the Republic Commando series you will feel the frustrations and desires of these clones. The political war wages and they are caught in the middle. The characters develop and seem to have full personalities.
