pickI really enjoyed this novella length sequel to Master of Crows. We follow the mage Silhara and his former apprentice, now wife, Martise, as they battle more dark magic. This time, however, the enemy may not be what he seems. And what of Martise's Gift? It's playing a troubling game of hide and seek. Mute Gurn and mage finding hound Cael are both back and the ending leaves no doubt that we'll see more in this smart fantasy series.
