Book 3 in the Westerman/Crowther historical mystery series, this one seemed a little slower to me than the previous 2. I did enjoy learning more about Crowther‘s past as he was called back to his childhood home by his sister to solve the discovery of a body left in an island tomb on the property. I also enjoyed Harriet‘s young, heroic son Stephen. An interwoven tale from the past and present of revenge, jealousy and murder, I enjoyed this one.

I cannot put this series down. I am enjoying the different parts of English history highlighted in each plot. The side characters continue to delight.
