This was for a goodreads book club. I would have walked away from it had it not been for the club read. I wanted to like it. So much potential and it reminded me of The Night Circus, but it had a severe pacing problem. Large parts of the book were dedicated to discussions instead of actually solving the mystery. The MC, despite her family dying, felt very disconnected from the events happening. #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks cont in comments

radesilets So much charm and so much potential, and the descriptions were decent, but the amount of dialogue with low development was painful. 3y
TheAromaofBooks Always so sad when a book doesn't quite pull it off!!! 3y

I remembered to include my bookclub read and star it this month! Added the new titles from my long TBR pile of books I own and colored them orange so I would know what is old and what is new. And yeah, I have like 11 books from the Redwall series and have only ever read one 😅 #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Oh man, I busted my way through a BUNCH of Redwall books last year!! I overall enjoyed them, although they did start to feel a little same-y after a while haha 3y
radesilets @TheAromaofBooks I have only read Martin the Warrior, but it‘s time to at least add one to the TBR list. 3y
