I loved this. Beautifully, meditatively written, it is "tales of a Moroccan girlhood" but very strictly centered around the themes of harem, womanhood, happiness, freedom, beauty... A wonderful read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I actually wanted to read some of her Muslim feminist writings, but this was all I could request through my library. Enjoying it immensely so far, though! We took the kids to the movies this morning, my youngest is passed out and I'm also exhausted and relaxing a bit.
