It took me 3 weeks to finish this book because I found it really interesting and I found myself reading it more on my freetime. At the beginning to the end it was very entertaining and there was no boring parts, I started this book on the 24th (February) and finished it tonight. I already had read this book before but I forgot the plot so I decided to read it again. The book is about a girl named Sophie that goes on a long boat ride.

Main character Sophie and her family had planned a mini vacation to travel and visit their grandfather Bompie overseas. Crossing the Atlantic ocean to get to England isn't an easy task. Her three uncles, two cousins, and herself are challenged with many dangerous adventures and decisions ahead of them. As the struggle to move forward into the sea shows, the real question is, will they survive?
Thirteen year old Sophie sets sail for England with uncles and cousins....

Just wanted to share my extremely battered (or, as we say at work “well loved”) copy of my childhood favorite. It‘s a wonderful adventure tale that tackles the issues of self-acceptance, identity, adoption and family. I absolutely love the heroine, who in my opinion is more brave and self-assured than half of the leading ladies in YA novels today. #childhoodfavorite #leadingladies
pickThe movement of the sea, this was a book I read since like 8-9 years old and it felt mystical how a person who journeys across the sea would describe how the ocean moves, that it is both beautiful and dangerous.

Middle Grade Book Club prep this month means revisiting a book I haven't read since elementary school. I'm not hating it.
