Finally completed The Traitor God and it was epic! The beginning I will admit is a bit slow, but once the middle kicks in and the battles and fights start to develop the story gets insanely interesting. So many betrayals, and some of them I never even expected! I also loved that Edrin was just a terrible scared man and was totally fine with admitting he was not up to fighting and would rather run away (and did), a great change to normal male MCs.

Ah to finally go back to my real love of fantasy books. Fantasy aimed towards adults, this is another dark and gritty one (#grimdark #fantasy is very slowly becoming a big favorite of mine) so far so good, let‘s hope this does some justice for me, I am in serious need a good book after my last two failed YA book ventures. I really should just stick to my adult fantasy haha.

To keep his friends alive & ensure their continued safety, Edrin Walker accepted exile from his home. For 10 years he keeps his promise & then his best friend, someone who was supposed to be protected by Edrin‘s promise, is murdered. Now Edrin, far more powerful than anyone knows & angry enough to burn down everything around him, is returning home & he will not stop until he finds his friend‘s murderer. Fun read & good start to new fantasy series.

“She led me to a near-deserted tavern called the Fuddled Ferret.”

This may be my favorite tavern name ever.

Fuddled Ferret

You know how much fun it is when you come home from vacation, it‘s 90+ degrees outside (100 degrees at one point), and you discover your air conditioning isn‘t working?!? Loads! On the plus side, being stuck at home while we wait for it to be fixed means I‘m getting lots of reading—and post-vacation laundry—done. Next up, a fantasy I stumbled across...don‘t remember where but it sounds good!

bookandbedandtea Ugh! Our AC went out last week. I was pretty cranky while simultaneously reminded that I'm lucky. Hope yours is fixed soon. 🌬 6y
TracyReadsBooks @bookandbedandtea Ugh is right! Turns out our AC is dead and gone. We have to get a new unit and it‘ll probably take a week or so. Bummer. Fortunately, we‘re supposed to be in the 70s this week. I hope the weather holds! 6y
