pickI stumbled upon this book quite by accident but I am very glad I did. It was sufficiently spooky enough to ensure I only read it by day but oddly the most engaging book I have read in a long while. I squeezed in a chapter this morning and I didn‘t want to have to stop reading to start work! The main characters are very likeable and the underlying mystery kept me guessing right until the end.

Thanks to an unscheduled nap I was able to sit up in the dark, small hours of the night reading Property Of A Lady by Sarah Rayne. I was just tired enough to be jumpy at any little noise and gave myself a few frights.
This might not be everyone's idea of a ghost story but just go with it. The writing and the characters will give your imagination all the help it needs.
