An Acre of Time
An Acre of Time | Phil Jenkins
2 posts | 1 read
"I've come here to unearth a story . . . the biography of the field beneath my feet". So begins a journey at once eclectic, invaluable, and unique. Winner of both the Lela Common Award for Canadian History and the Ottawa Citizen Award for Nonfiction, AN ACRE OF TIME is not only the tale of a sliver of land in Canada's capital, it is about the process by which man inexorably alters the place he inhabits.

Mehso-so

I liked the idea of this book -- telling the history of a place through a representative acre of land -- but there wasn't a map showing where the acre was! I found that distracted me and eventually led to my abandoning the book.

I'm going to NEED an acre of time to get through this (slightly ambitious) on-deck pile 😅
