30 years after going missing, one night on a camping trip, Aurora is found. In 1983, a intense investigation happened, but her body was never found. Now 30 years later, the past is being drug back up. Jonah Sheen was just a small town new cop then. It's the one case that has haunted him because it was never solved.

First in a new series by Gytha Lodge. It is full of red herrings and twists. A police procedural that has a⬇️

Monica5 ton of mystery. Lodge has started a wonderful series. She left plenty of room for her characters to grow. I can't wait to see where she goes with this series.

I read the 5th one first, since my library had it but not the others. My librarian ended up borrowing this one for me, and is working to find the others. A great library in your community is the best thing to have.

Really struggled with the back and forth time jumps between the night of the death and modern day. Might take some time to consider another book.

I do admit the first half of the novel is okay. I found myself wanting to put the book down at times, but the second half picked up and quickly took off. I was so interested in some of the characters and what happened to aurora that I couldn‘t put the book down. The Second half has a bunch of info dumping but it spaces it out to where it‘s not so much at one time.

There are some major trigger warnings for rape in this book. Fullreview ongoodreads

A great thriller with lots of twists and turns. Characters were well developed and easy to identify with. I found myself getting a little teary eyed in the end. Would definitely recommend!
