A Beetle is Shy by Dianna Hutts Aston is a piece of nonfiction. It was published in 2016. It takes us through a beetles whole life cycle from beginning to end. It tells us about characteristics of the beetles and their environments. This almost feels like a beetle index. This book would be an easy one to jump into at any point and learn some quick facts.

I loved the colorful and vibrant illustrations in this book about beetles. It makes it very fun to read.
I liked how this book started with “a beetle is...“ and then goes on to talk about specific facts about what the beetle is. It tells you about how a beetle is born, types of beetles, what they do, how they act, and how they are harmful and helpful as well as prehistoric.

The illustrations of this book are very detailed about beetles throughout their life cycle. They even show the actual cycle of how a beetle forms and grows to be full sized.
I liked this book! It explains the life cycle of a beetle very well, and makes the reader want to find out more about it. While I am not the biggest fan of insects, I was interested in reading more about this topic.

I would love to use this book for a nature lesson in class. Children love looking at nature and seeing all the unique creatures that live in the outdoors. It would be a great book to use to teach children more about organisms that live outside
Published in 2016- this book is a great work of nonfiction. The images are so stunning and colorful, and the book is full of facts about beetles that many children would be extremely interested in and love to read about and share with others!

This nonfiction book creates a look into the world of beetles, bugs that have been on the planet back when dinosaurs were alive. This can be super fascinating for kids who like bugs and insects. I personally don‘t like bugs, so I wouldn‘t want to read it by myself.
A Beetle Is Shy is an interesting book about different types of beetles. I think children will really enjoy learning about different types of beetles and recognizing ones that they may see sometimes
