Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction, Vol. 3
Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction, Vol. 3 | Inio Asano
6 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
It's just an everyday apocalypse. Three years ago the aliens invaded Tokyo. Nothing was ever the same again. But after a while, even impending doom starts to feel ordinary. The defense business is booming in Japan, and the amazing Hujin weapons are finally getting their chance to shine. But civilians are fed up with the inconvenience of being collateral damage, and their protest signs are starting to get really pointed! Meanwhile, Kadode has to face up to the realities of living in an apocalypse and not taking her college entrance exams seriously. At least high school is finally over!

Pickpick

Life goes on during an alien invasion in volume 3. Not everyone we‘ve met so far gets out alive. The creator of this #manga series doesn‘t shy away from horror and tragedy, but there are plenty of funny moments too. It‘s pointed social commentary and my admiration continues to grow. #graphicnovel #translation

Mothership fritters street snacks. This, together with the jingoistic sign in the background are good examples of Asano‘s dark, satirical humour.

A massive alien mothership hovers over Tokyo for three years. Aspects of this science fiction storyline have clear connections to the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster and I wonder if this panel reflects Fukushima area‘s reality as well.
