This would be a great book to read for younger students to have them learn that even though someone looks different than you doesn‘t mean they are scary or any less of a person!

This story has the theme that everyone looks different and no two people or animals look the same. In this story there is a big bear and a small hare who have differences but, they are best friends.

This is a good book that shows how everyone is diverse but we like people for who they are, not there differences.

This tale shows a message of how friends come in all shapes in sizes. The two characters are different, one a small hare, and the other a big bear. Spending a day together, they became best friends. Hare started off not knowing how he felt about himself, comparing himself in different ways to different animals. In the end, it doesn‘t matter what you look like! Genre: traditional literature; Published: 2000; Illustrator: Pirkko Vainio

“little Hare and big Bear, the best of friends”
Such a sweet way to wrap up the story and ironic that such a small and large creature would cross paths and view each other as friends rather than predator and prey!

The colors on this page really depict how Hare is feeling and how lonely he is before he meets Bear. The dark grays, blacks, and blues hold that emotion of sadness and loneliness all on one page!

Published in 2000. This story celebrates diversity by touching on two completely different characters and how they find friendship in each other. The moral that really comes through is that we should treat all people with love and kindness because even though we have differences, we have similarities too! I also believe that the illustrations really capture the emotions for each of these characters. The use of color helped me understand them!
