I was overbooked and overworked this weekend and Monday, so I sought audio solace in form of more M.C. Beaton writing as Marion Chesney. The author really researched the habits, manners, dress and custom of the times (the men go out to the lawn to relieve themselves bc that was the custom of the time) or the ladies speak with a lisp (not in this particular book, because of time period), which I love. MidnightBookGirl Of course, the romance is fairly of it's time too- so the men are all bossy and the women are often overcome by their husband's masculinity, but Beaton writes with a sharp wit. Enjoying this one now! 5y
