This is a fantastic short story collection with a sci-fi bent! Every story made me think, and when each was over, I wanted more. I like how some of the concepts and ideas crossed into multiple stories. Also, many of the stories featured music in some capacity. Not a single dud in the bunch.

shanaqui I used to be in a Goodreads bookclub with Sarah P! Man, I miss those days. I should read this. 2y

Had issues completing this - my library loan kept expiring - but I have issues finishing short story collections in general. These ones are potential gut punches so hard to commit to another one.

Combination of near future scifi and fantasy shorts. Very literary and thought provoking. Author has a talent for making an entire setting seem real very quickly.

I had read some of these already, but it had been so long I didn't remember everything. The only ones I had read before and skipped were And Then There Were (N-One) and Wind Will Rove. Re-reading Our Lady of the Open Road after A Song for a New Day made me fall in love to a story that had been meh before. A pretty solid collection of complex stories that were deeper than expected.
